LaNet D. Love (Founder), Founder/Director

LaNet Love has always wanted to be a positive role model for children. This desire led her to pursue a degree in Psychology from San Diego State University. She has always worked with children in some way shape or form. During her summer vacations in high school she passed out lunch’s to neighborhood children for the summer youth program, and spent several  college years working as a summer camp counselor at the YWCA.

At the age of nine Ms. Love entered the world of dance at the Blackwell Dance Academy and later joined the Universal Dance Theater. During high school at St. Mary’s Academy, she was introduced to Theater Arts where she danced and acted in Grease, Oliver Twist, and West Side Story. Her love for theater arts continued as she graced the stage in the production of "We Shall Not Be Moved" while attending San Diego State University.

After receiving a B.S degree in Psychology Ms. Love returned to Los Angeles and worked as a youth counselor for Fred’s Group Home, an elementary school teacher at James Christian Academy and a pre-school teacher for the state pre-school head-start program. LaNet left teaching for two years and worked as a Social Worker for Los Angeles County Department of Children and Family Services. After two years of Social work God called Ms. Love back to teaching. She now works at Vaughn Learning Center as a pre-school teacher for the state pre-school head-start program.

God also called Ms. Love back to Theater Arts. In 1996 she formed Positive Images of  Self-Expression with her dance mate/college best friend Imani Hayward. They both had a desire to help children, which lead to the combined efforts of  helping children raise their self-esteem through the arts. Together Imani and LaNet touch the lives of children by allowing them to reach their true potential through the arts. They have co-written plays such as "Where is My Daddy" and "Let Me Dream" and put on numerous fashion show productions. Ms. Love's dream came true when she and Imani opened Positive Images of Self –Expression School of performing Arts in 2004. LaNet Love wants to be remembered as a positive role model for children everywhere.
