Ms. Myisha Richmond, Director

MYISHA RICHMOND is a dedicated mother of two, dancer, teacher and choreographer. She always had creativity and determination to be a dancer. At the tender age of 2 her Aunt gave her the nickname “ AUNTIE'S SOUL BABY” She loved to perform in front of the family and watch her aunt dance to the latest jams. That's when it all began, her mom enrolled her in Blackwell Dance Academy at age 5 and Myisha fell in love with the art of dance. Soon after she began studying jazz, ballet and tap (hoofing to be exact) under the late Paul Kennedy at Universal Dance Designs.  Mr. Kennedy was aware of Myisha's desire to teach so he took her along to assist him with teaching Tap.

Myisha has won many titles in local and international pageants such as Shelly Garrett's Miss. Personality at age 11, 1st runner-up in the Miss Junior Black America Pageant, Miss Hal Jackson Talented Teen International 1991 at the Apollo Theatre in New York City.

Myisha's love for the arts was no secret. She used her creativity at high school, Hawthorne High, choreographing many of the dance routines for the arts productions. It was in high school when she began venturing into the Hip-Hop scene using her trained dancing skills in videos such as Herb Albert “North on South Street & “ Jump Street” , Guy's “ I Wanna Get With You” performing on the Arsenio Hall Show with Hip Hop Artist “Black Sheep”.

Even after high school, college and motherhood Myisha's passion for dance never left her heart. So, Myisha continued to teach dance classes at various dance studios, and with the support from her mother and family she began to travel with artist such as the late Gerald Levert, Keith Sweat, Johnny Gill, Ginuwine, Tank, Marques Houston as a featured dancer on many state and international tours. Myisha has traveled to Amsterdam, London, Paris, Canada and all over the United States. She also danced in videos with artist such as Faith Evans, Eric Sermon, Method Man and many others. Miss Richmond has worked with legendary choreographers such has Tony Basil, Marguerite Derricks, Hinton Battle, Dave Scott and Fatima Robinson. Most recently she is a featured Tap Dancer in the movie “Idlewild ' starring Andre 3000 & Big Boi of Outkast.

In 2006 Myisha reconnected with Imani Hayward and LaNet Love and was thrown back by the PISE organization. She believes PISE is just what youth need, and the warmth and family orientated atmosphere is always welcoming. Myisha desires to give back to the community by mentoring children and young adults to be the best that they can be. Myisha's motto is “WHAT EVER IS TROUBLING YOU, DANCE IT OUT AND LET GOD DO THE REST”. PISE's is home now and she is here to stay.
